BeeDay 2020 Capsule

To celebrate World Bee Day 2020 world renowned artist Takashi Murakami teamed up with sustainable clothing company PANGAIA to create a four-piece capsule. Of course the garments are wavy but the launch is inline with the Bee the Change Fund in partnership with Milkywire which aiming to both protect and preserve the vulnerable and endangered bees species across the world.

"The UN considers bees to be the most important species," a PANGAIA rep said of the bees-supporting collab on Monday. "They pollinate 75 percent of the world's food crops. Bees feed the world and are key to conserving biodiversity. Today, we introduce 'Bee the Change' fund, powered by [Milkywire], to protect and preserve vulnerable and endangered bee species across the world."

With Murakami’s signature flower bomb and smiling designs he brings to life a flower and a new bee character on each garment. Known for his rainbow hues and bright pop style, his garments mirror that with, 'Orchid Purple', 'Off White', 'Cobalt Blue' which complement his art style, topped of with a statement on the bees supporting the ecosystem we're a part of.

Living up to the brand's name Pangaia T-shirts are made from 100% GOTS certified organic cotton that is chemical-free, while its hoodies combine recycled materials into its fabrication, placing importance on values which are often overlooked. The Takashi Murakami x PANGAIA T-shirts will be sold for $95 USD and the hoodies at $220 USD.

Be sure to check out the capsule on PANGAIA’s website today for the capsule.
